The vibraphone is an instrument whose sounds can be ethereal and poetic. When you play pianissimo, it gives me the impression of a certain fragility. In this case, I associate it with that of crystal glasses whose ringing resonance is quite close to that of the vibraphone. The sound of one glass to another, very distinct, makes me think of the different notes of the vibraphone.
In the central part, I use a bow whose sliding along the blade opposes without contradiction the percussive gesture of the sticks. Elsewhere, it is the flexible rhythmic dynamism of the instrument linked to its dreamlike sonorities that have been the guiding threads of musical inspiration.
