These three little pieces are written just in order to please the performer as well as the listener. They intend to show (as far as they can) that atonal language can be enjoyable and intelligible, depending on the musical aesthetics that is used. That’s why the pieces are inspired by the principle of the two-part Inventions of J.-S. Bach : each one works out a few musical patterns through contrapuntal imitations, transpositions, etc. in a playful way. The pedal should be scarcely used.
