Laurent Coulomb was born in Montpellier. He started taking piano lessons and then pursued higher studies in History and Political Sciences. At the same time, he developed his musical training by taking composing lessons with Alan Belkin, Marybel Dessagnes and Nicolas Bacri, and then passed his composition diplomas at the Cannes Conservatoire. Following the great french tradition (from Poulenc to Dutilleux), based on a clear musical writing and on sharing musical and poetic emotion within contemporary patterns. Member of the French Authors and Composers Society (SACEM) and of the musical association Expressions XX et I, he wrote more than thirty pieces for all instruments or voices ; he regularly works withs soloists of the Cannes Orchestra and compagnies like the Compagnie Divague.
