These Looped-Dances, are designed on processes that I like: the «repetition-varied», which is like a sound loop, but whose interest is that the melodic and rhythmic patterns are never the same , always evolving. Everything is transformed quickly, and each dance is deduced and born of the previous, by transformation. There are ten. So we hardly realize we moved to another section. These dances are voluntarily written for a large audience, sensitive to rhythmic nerves and pulsation. Dance elements of various origins are used throughout the piece. In the past, composers have often been inspired by popular music of their time, such as Johannes Brahms with his Hungarian dances, a model I do not pretend to equate.
